August 23, 2023. The Encyclopedia of Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico was awarded a Southwest Book Design and Production Award by the New Mexico Book Association.
June 1, 2023 (Thursday). I will be discussing A Tale of Santa Fe at a meeting of the newly formed Old Santa Fe Association history reading club at Travel Bug from 5 to 7 pm. All are invited and the event is free.

August 25, 2022. Garcia Street Books hosted the launch of the 10th Anniversary Edition of the Encyclopedia of Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico on Thursday, August 25, at 5 pm. The event was a conversation between author and longtime Santa Fe resident James Mcgrath Morris and myself. Jamie and I talked about how Santa Fe has changed since the Encyclopedia first came out ten years ago.

August 24, 2022. I did a talk at a Historic Santa Fe Foundation Salon event on August 24. The topic was “Conflict Was Inevitable.” I addressed the events of 1926, when Museum of New Mexico director Edgar Lee Hewett was challenged by members of Santa Fe’s artistic community.
